Cypress Mountain Ski Hill

Cypress Mountain is the largest ski resort in Metro Vancouver, offering exceptional downhill skiing, cross-country trails, snowshoeing routes, and a tubing park. Nestled within Cypress Provincial Park, the resort also provides opportunities for hiking and backcountry camping. The 2024/25 ski season officially began on November 22, 2024.

Why Choose Cypress Mountain?

As the most advanced ski hill among Vancouver’s local mountains, Cypress Mountain boasts the greatest vertical drop, the most extensive terrain, and the highest number of lifts. Located in West Vancouver, the resort features:

  • 61 ski runs
  • Six chairlifts
  • 600 acres (240 hectares) of skiable terrain
  • 610 metres of vertical elevation

While Mount Seymour and Grouse Mountain are also popular ski destinations, Cypress Mountain stands out for experienced skiers. Seymour is often recommended for beginners and families, while Grouse is favored for its year-round activities and accessibility via the Skyride. However, Cypress remains the preferred choice for those seeking more challenging slopes without making the longer drive to Whistler.

The resort is home to some of the most advanced snow-making equipment in BC, ensuring excellent conditions throughout the season. In 2022/23, Cypress upgraded its facilities with the cutting-edge Sky Quad lift system for enhanced efficiency and comfort.
